www.delbagualdogosargentinos.com/alpaca.htmWhat do you think of this female? I love the thickness and the head type. She is still very young in this picture so her angulation in the front may improve. I would love a gang of females like this!

I like her, she looks real nice thick coat and she seems to be well proportioned, I liked her father before, but he is real pigeon toed. Overall she would definately be an asset to any kennel. I dont know if she will get much more angles as both of her parents are pretty straight in that dept.

I really like this part of the forum. Having shown halter horses for many years and being interested in exhibiting Dogos this is very helpful to me. If those of you who are experienced with exhibiting in the breed classes would pick photos like this and point out what you like and do not like about the conformation of the dog and why ... basically deconstructing the conformation it would be an excellent learning tool for me! To me, the female shown in the picture obviously toes out. Also, it appears as though she is a bit splay footed and her feet are not as tight as what I would like to have seen in breeds such as Dobermans, Bull Mastiffs, etc.. I will say that my own dogo, Vida's, feet are much tighter than this. In the horse world, a 3/4 front shot is the BEST shot there is for hiding conformational flaws. Personally, I would like to see profile, front and rear shots. Ha! l know the photos aren't set up for people to learn from... just an observation from someone who really really wants to learn to critique structure. Also, please be aware that I do not know any of the Dogo kennels but the largest. I say this because I do not want to offend anyone by asking stupid questions or providing an uneducated opinion about the structure of their dog. I just really want to learn and the only way I know to do that is by picking the pieces apart bit by bit. There are no perfect horses... Even my Superior Halter Horses, and World Champions had glaring "holes" or things I would have changed about them in a minute. And so... having said that I beg everyone's forgiveness in advance should I try to learn conformation and proper structure on their dog. Best wishes, Misti

Welcome Misti! I am willing to offer as much knowledge as I have for you to learn about the dogo. If you look at the other post in this Structure section, we did a little critique. If you have picture that you would like us to critique, post them and we'll do our best.
