So some may know--- some may not, BUT a while back when Mike was the president of the DACA and I was on the BOD we had incorporated a program called the hunters seeding program--- it consisted of helping breeders get their stock hunted by means of puppies and getting hunters much needed stock---- lots of details in the program that where still on the works at the time and a few glitches here and there, quit a few breeders jumped in feet first to mention just one that jumps to mind--- Eduardo Lavado (los Medanos) sent out quit a few dogs, Tory, Via, Loca, brother and Sancho to mention a few and a few other breeders I am sure.
In an effort to continue to improve I also sent and continue to send dogs out as I meet hunters worth it for the breed no pun intended to anyone by this comment, I just strongly believe that just like pet owners some hunters are not qualified for the breed at all and will and wont help it in anyway.
Anyhow--- here is one of those puppies and what I like to see when I send puppies out--- I don’t want the hunter to pull any punches with my/THEIR dogs,(they own the dog FREE AND CLEAR) BUT rest assured I want to see a well feed, well kept animal--- this little bitch IMPO is in top shape for a hunter--- Daniel has done a great job putting her through the fire as y'all have read, she has been tested at a young age on hogs double her size and performed great in the eyes of critical yet objective knowledgeable hunters---- she has been put through it--- to succeed and prove, she is still young and the story has yet to be written on her, so far so good.
I want to briefly mention that it is my opinion that 100% is unattainable for even breeders of many, many years, EVERY breeder has his fair share of culls and if they tell you different they are flat out liars--- I have had my fair share of them and my work is IN PROGRESS, but as long as I keep meeting folks who are willing, my work as of that of other breeders will not only be successful but by utilizing this tool it will cut your time and efforts to progress and further help and develop the breed---- don’t be fooled no matter the breed no matter the years, CULLS are there.
Tip top shape;
It is my understanding the current BOD for the DACA is hard at work revamping and continuing with the Dogo seeding program, I know we left it off in the rough and many thing need to be pressed and cleaned up, but I believe it was a great concept and hope to see it pushed and supported.
IF you have similar stories or experiences please attach to this thread, it be nice to hear positive and succesful stories as well I am sick of hearing the dooms day story for the breed when I know full well LOTS of Dogos are working just fine and LOTS of breeders are seeing a good and fair share of successes.
O
PD. Wouldnt mind seeing Recado from start to end, Jane, D'Angelo, Adora. Bravo, Mataco and a few others I KNOW for fact are stepping it up. Ill post Bella, Nash, Clyde(RIP), Bonnie as time allows me.
Another up and coming dog I like a lot is Ricks Lucho---this dog I LOVE---he is pure instinct and HARD on hogs.
