We pick up our little white bundle of joy tomorrow when he turns 9 weeks old.
Our co-ownership agreement requires us to have his ears cropped. We've had large athletic dogs in the past (Rottie and a show Rhodesian Ridgeback) but we have no experience with ear cropping. I'm concerned about finding a proper and experienced veterinarian here in Northern NJ since I assume that there is some specialization required to perform the surgery properly.
A few questions:
1) Can anyone recommend an experienced vet for ear cropping here in NJ? 2) Is it truly a specialty like I believe it is or is my neighborhood vet qualified to perform this as "routine"? 3) What are you opinions on when is the best time to perform this procedure?
Thanks!

There is a vet in upper Darby PA that does a great job. They will do it when you are ready. It is important to go to someone with experience in the breed.
