Milk never went bad on any of the nipples--- This spider bite was treated per a veterinaries recommendations:1st day After most of the dead tissue fell off (same day as before); Treatment; 2cc of dexamethasone ONCE. 3cc Combi Pen-48 (Penicillin G Benzathine And Penicillin G Procaine) x 10 days. I would have used Amoxicillin BUT Doc told me Combi-pen and every time I second guess him I pay for it so I stuck to what he said--- even though I still second guessed him on the sugar thing instead I used the Granulex V. Granulex V spray twice daily. Wet wraps at puppy feeding times to avoid puppies getting in the hole. Three days on treatement; One week after (exactly 7days); STAY POSTED for conclusion in about 7 more days I suspect...

Do you know what species it was? I would bet a recluse! That is why more Floridians are afraid of spiders than snakes. That is NASTY. Thanks for the info. Thats a +1 for your Karma.

ERP! I think I threw up in my mouth a little bit...YIKES! I HATE venomous spider and venomous snakes! uuugggghhhh! my mom got bitten on the figer by a Brown Recluse as well...it was on the under side of a dog water dish...she didn't feel it bite her, but when her finger tip started turning black not too long from then, she went searching and found and killed it. (i get the heeebie geebies just thinking about it...) anyhow...she is BIG on natural medicines, so she self treated with BF&C (Stands for Bone Flesh & Cartilage.) She swears by this stuff...for everything and anything having to do with Bones, Flesh or Cartilage being damaged...it's supposed to speed healing... going to try to post a photo of the ointment...you can find it at pretty much any store where you'd buy homeopathic remedies. OLY, this one might be good for Chris too...my grandmother used it on her arthritic hands, and honest to God, shes got WAY better movement in her hands now...and her skin is so nice too, from the rich ointment. (Added bonus, it smells kinda nice too...LOL)

I am glad she is doing much better, it looked NASTY at first, but seems to be healing up quickly.
