Great News! I just found out that Dogos can be registered with ACK through a relatively painless process. Currently 191 Dogos are enrolled with AKC. They must have 3rd generation pedigrees. It takes 300-400 to get Miscellaneous status. LET'S ENROLL OUR DOGOS! Make the AKC a REAL dog club! I'd love to see our beauties in their shows.

HELL NO!--my dogs are registered FCPR and UKC I will not ever, as long as FCPR/FCI registers dogos, register my dogs ( including my neo's) with the AKC.

I would do it if I felt good about the parent club, but I can't say I do. It is a big responsibility to hold the power of the dogo. And no one is ready for that responsibility, well no one that wants to step and is ready. If everyone got together and stood behind one unified plan for the dogo, then it could work, but for now its just too cut throat and separate.
Ps. Join us and register, its free and its easier to post future replies.

Heck I would do it if only to see Dogos compete in the US AKC shows. I watched AKC's Eukanuba National Championship this weekend and it would have been awesome to have seen some dogos in the mix...

I was looking at one of my pedigrees, and on the back it has a list of all the member countries kennel clubs, and AKC is the one stated for the U.S. I guess the AKC paperwork is good to transfer to FCI but AKC still only recognizes the breeds they want to.
