Hey folks, hope everyone is doing well.
Is there a proper weight scale somewhere that I can look at to see if my pup is within range?
He was 4 months on Feb 20th. Today I took him to the vet for his next rounds of vaccinations and he weighs 57 lbs. Is that good, low or high?
Thanks, Frank

BTW - he's on about 6 cups a day of Taste of Wild. He also gets a faw egg on a daily basis, several strings of cheese, and sometimes raw chicken legs or quarters or whatever beef or pork WinDixie puts on sale. Lately, he's been getting one or 2 t-bone steaks for lunch. I don't give him any kibble for lunch or dinner if he's getting raw.
Is that too much, just right or not enough? My goal is to have a strong, good looking boy. (like everyone else I guess).
Thanks

Post pictures of him and I tell you if its to much--- I go by how the dog looks, you want nice cover over the rib cage and lots of lean muscle mass.
Dogos even as puppies are pretty solid in the muscle department. O

Yeah, lets see a pic . If I could do it again with a puppy I would always make sure I saw at least 3 back ribs, from 4 months on. It took me almost a year to get my dogs at a weight that I was happy with and the dogs are happier and healthier because of it. Being overweight is too hard on a large dog as they are growing

I wouldnt change a thing --- he looks good--- maybe a tinny bit less fat would be good, BUT he is a growing boy with nice big solid bones and he will require food to build on--- there will be times he will seem THIN because he will be growing, so I would keep him right where he is at right now. LOVELY ear crop--- I wonder who did such a nice job . He is going to be something to look at when he is 4.

Thanks Oly! And yes, the Dr did a nice job. Speaking of which, I'm absolutely fanscinated by one of his dogo's. I forgot the name but it's the MONSTER, huge one that he has. Susposedely he's and uncle to my dog. I wish Luke will turn out half as nice as that dog.
BTW - any update on the March hunt?
Thanks

+1 on the weight, he is perfect right as he is.
The dogo at the Docs house you are refering to is Cilantro. A magnificent animal, and half brother to "Blue". He is also the sire to my little Pirata.
I think your boy will turn out more like his daddy Blue, than Cilantro and thats a good thing, because overall Blue is more correct.

I know he's a bit big but wow, outside the ring that boy is impressive and intimidating! How's your Pirata doing? Post some new pictures when you can. Take care, Frank
